Hi,
This is Jamie from Germany who is currently WWOOFing at coco-Rin. At this time, it is my eighth month in Japan and sixth week at coco-Rin. With Yuki-san, the staff and other WWOOFers, I have come to learn about the purposes of this place, as I helped out a bit with some audiovisual materials (mostly video production), while doing other tasks such as preparing side dishes for the café, helping other WWOOFers with their projects (e. g. the garden project), or visiting Hamamatsu elementary schools with Yuki-san, who has been invited to talk about her career.

ドイツから来たウーファーのジェイミーです。今は日本へ来てからもう８ヶ月が経ち、coco-Rinでウーフが始まってからも６週間が過ぎました。 coco-Rinのために動画を作ったり、おかずを作ったり、他のウーファーさんのプロジェクト（例えば庭づくり）を手伝ったり、ゆきさんと浜松の小学校で人生について話したりしながら、ゆきさんやスタッフ、ウーファーさんたちからこの場所の目的について教えてもらいました。
At my arrival on 25th May 2025 (Sunday), the café was bustling, while my co-WWOOFers Wendy and Orna prepared lunch: A salad, and French toast with whipped cream and strawberries. Later that day, the girls introduced me to their projects they were working on. Having stayed in North of Japan for the last 7 months, it was also my first time experiencing getting bitten by mosquitos instantly and in that high amount. After dinner (burger and salad), I was finally officially briefed on the site by Pei Pei, who is also a WWOOFer, about how the venue functions as a community space and how I can contribute to it as a WWOOFer. Learning about these opportunities gave me a strong sense of empowerment and self-efficacy.
私が着いたとき、カフェは忙しくて、ウーファーのウェンディさんとオーナーさんが昼ご飯を作っていました。メニューはサラダと、いちごと生クリームのフレンチトーストでした。 その日のうちに、彼女たちは自分のプロジェクトについて紹介してくれました。 この間、私は７ヶ月間ずっと北海道と東北に住んでいたので、三ケ日ではじめて蚊にたくさん刺されてしまいました。 夜ご飯のあと、ウーファーのペイペイさんから、coco-Rinでウーファーとしてどんなことができるのかについて案内してもらいました。 ここでのいろいろな機会を知って、自分の中に力強いエネルギーが湧いてくるような気がしました。
In my first week, I was still getting accustomed to the routines (or flexibility and chances) of a coco-Rin WWOOFer’s daily life. By now, I feel encouraged and empowered to 1) help out with my own skills (cooking and media production) and 2) be a (hopefully good) senior to new WWOOFers.
一週目にはまだルーティンか自由な一日になれなければなりませんでした。今頃はもう安心していて、coco-Rinのために何ができることをよくわかって、新しいウーファーさんに役に立っている先輩になるかもしれません。
